The Traitors UK Series 1 – Episode 2

In this episode, we see a brief introduction and recap of last weeks show.

Claudia gives us the intro, informing us that some players fell early (Kieran and Amos), some were lying already (Alex and Tom), 3 traitors were chosen (Will, Amanda and Alyssa), the players started building the prize pot (Wicker Beasts), suspicions started flying and the traitors murdered their first victim.

Breakfast

This morning, the surviving players make their way to breakfast.

First through the door are Maddy, Aaron and Ivan. Maddy says “its just us!” before breathing a sigh of relief.

Ivan comments how lovely it is to be first. He can relax, fill his plate with pastries and watch everyone else come in.

Next to enter are Alex and Meryll. Alex mentions to camera how anxious she is that Tom might not be there.

This is followed by Hannah, Matt, Rayan and Imran. Matt is happy to see Alex because he fancies her.

Then Nicky and Tom enter. Alex is very happy to see Tom!

No sooner has Tom entered, than Will and Claire enters. This is followed by John, Alyssa, Faye and Amanda.

Everyone is now at breakfast apart from Andrea, Aisha and Theo.

The group agree that they’ll be gutted whoever goes out. There’s a knock on the door and Andrea walks through.

The group now realise it’s between Aisha and Theo. They’re all disappointed and nervous as to who has been murdered.

The doors knocks for the last time today and Theo enters. This means Aisha has been murdered.

The show flashes back to last night and shows the Traitors making their decision. They chose Aisha because they feel she’s dangerous and that her group of friends need to be broken up.

We then see Aisha receiving the murder letter last night.

She says no-one wants to be the first to go so it’s hard.

Back to the present, Theo is talking to the camera and says “These traitors can murder you at the drop of a hat. I was glad and grateful that I got another day”.

Amanda says that it was difficult because the game is just beginning and it’s full of wonderful characters.

Aaron says that it’s bittersweet. He was happy to see Theo walk in, but is gutted because Aisha was fun to be around.

Everyone is feeling sad when Claudia walks in and says “good morning” to the group.

She informs them that the first murder has taken place (as if they didn’t know) and would the group join her in saying goodbye to Aisha. She removes Aisha’s portrait from the wall and throws it to the ground.

She then goes on to say that tonight will the first banishment and if the players are lucky, they’ll be able to get rid of their first traitor.

She informs them that the next mission will be starting soon and asks if anyone likes music, before departing from the breakfast room.

Everyone finishes breakfast and wanders around the castle until the mission.

Rayan, Tom, Alex, Imran, Aaron and Ivan are standing/sitting on the steps outside of the castle.

Ivan says that maybe Aisha was murdered was because she fancied Aaron and the traitors were trying to see if Aaron would be blamed.

Alex says is could literally be anyone and Imran says his mind is scrambled.

In the snooker room, we see Amanda, Claire, Theo, Maddy, Will, Andrea, John and Faye all disussing Aisha. Claire says that Aisha wasn’t afraid to say what she thought so that might be the reason she was murdered.

She says to camera that because of her police work, shes good at spotting people who aren’t telling the truth and that she’ll be able to sniff out the traitors.

Will is trying to mimic the faithfuls. He wants to give his children everything he never had i.e. a foreign holiday, and is desperate to win.

Nicky, John, Alex, Alyssa, Aaron and Maddy are in the library. Nicky is telling the others how she lost her right hand at age 22 in a car crash on the motorway. If she wins, she’ll get a new hand.

Mission Time

Claudia is waiting outside of the castle for everyone. She tells them that if they get it perfect, they’ll add £10,000 to the prize fund.

Two groups are formed. One consisting of seven members and the other consisting of 12 members.

The people in the group of seven are Ivan, Faye, Alex, Rayan, Maddy, Nicky and Amanda,.

The people in the group of 12 are Meryll, Alyssa, Andrea, Will, John, Aaron, Tom, Theo, Claire, Hannah, Matt and Imran.

The group of seven go to the castle chapel where they are greeted by church bells and five pieces of music. They will have to play five songs.

The group of 12 will listen to the songs, work out what it is, find the matching music box within the castle and open it.

Inside the music box will be a figurine. The real object will be somewhere inside the castle. This object needs to be brought to Claudia for £2,000 to be added to the prize fund.

The group of seven head off to the castle, where Ivan takes the lead for the first song. It’s Auld Lang Syne.

Hannah shouts “It’s the national anthem for Britain!” and rushes off into the castle.  John realises it’s actually Auld Lang Syne and so the group look for the music box that plays Auld Lang Syne.

Once found, they realise they need to find an owl and start searching frantically. As soon as they find it, they bring it to Claudia and place it on the plyth for their first £2,000.

The group in the church are notified of the other groups success and begin to celebrate.

Next up to take the stand is Rayan. He composes Swan Lake although to begin with it sounds nothing like it.

Eventually they realise they should be looking for a ballerina but can’t find one anywhere. Claudia whispers “shoes” to Andrea.  This results in them finding the shoes and adding another £2,000 to the prize pot.

Back at the church, Maddy takes turn to be the composer. This time it’s Ode to Joy.

Alyssa says “I know this song” and runs into the castle. Hannah says it was absolute mayhem and everyone just loved running around the castle.

The object for this one was a feather, which was swiftly found by Meryll and brought to the plinth by John. £6,000 won so far.

Faye composes the next one in a very monotone voice calling out the numbers “8,6,8,7,5,6,4,4,4”. Ivan asks that they run through it first as they have no idea what they’re playing.

They hit all the right notes but there is no indication of what the song is and Ivan says “this is a hard one!”  The group back at the castle are listening intently and looking confused.

Claire shouts out “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!” and everyone rushes into the castle to find the correct music box.

It’s incorrect.

Ivan says that he does’t think Faye was confident enough and Amanda says that Faye is so worked up.

Hannah thinks she hears “Three Blind Mice” and the group in the castle start screaming and searching frantically for the music box.

Claudia winces and informs them that half their time is up.

Will starts running around screaming “Peacock!” Matt places a candleholder on the plynth. Claudi says that it’s incorrect. Will says “that’s not even a peacock, thats a rooster, bro!”

Time runs out for that one so no money added to the prize fund. The song was “Sugarplum Fairy” and they were looking for a hat.

For the final round, Alex takes over composing. Everyone back at the castle gets it straight away, it’s “Lullaby”.

They find the music box and see a rocking horse inside. Hannah starts screaming “rocking horse in the bar!” , Will gets it and places it on the plyth.

Claudia confims that is correct and that they’ve added another £2,000 to the prize fund making £8,000 in total for todays task, bringing the total to £23,000. Everyone celebrates.

Claudia leaves the castle and tells the group that she’ll see them tonight at the roundtable. Everyone will get one vote each and whoever has the most votes will be banished.

Alex says she is terrified of writing someones name down as she could be throwing a faithful under the bus. There is a murmur of agreement.

In the snooker room, we see Rayan, Meryll, Amanda, Will, Andrea, Aaron and Hannah. Will says there is a specific person that got outed by Theo yesterday and that was Imran. He says he wants to plant seeds and cant have the chance that his name will come up.

Rayan thinks that a lot of people will be putting Imran down as their name tonight. Aaron agrees.

Meryll starts wondering about Nicky. She thinks Nicky is closed off and she hasn’t connected with her.

Hannah agrees and says she was watching Nicky very carefully that morning and noticed she was crying when everyone was entering. She wonders if that could be a sign of being a traitor.

She then points to Amanda and says that Amanda is one of the purest people she’s ever met.

John enters the room, sits down and calmly states that he thinks the traitors are Nicky and Faye. He says it may not be but that’s his gut instinct.

Later, Aaron, Matt and Alex are standing in the castle doorway. Aaron says there are three people, one of which no-one has named yet so he’s not going to name them, but the other two are Faye and Imran. He thought it was those two straight away.

Alex says she doesn’t know.

To camera, Aaron says its definitely Imran, Faye he’s a bit 50/50 with, but that it’s definitely John as well.

Alex says that she’s definitely considered them, especially as Imran has been so quiet but it’s early and she feels like shes throwing spears in the dark.

Alex asks Matt what he thinks and he says Imran and Faye are his two. As soon as he says that, Imran appears…

Cut to Claudia sitting in a chair in front of a roaring fire where she tells us that any minute now they players will be getting together for the first banishing. They will debate, they will discuss but the question is can the traitors go undetected?

The First Banishment

Everyone makes their way to the round table. They are all feeling nervous and hoping they won’t be the first one to be banished.

Once seated, Claudia comes in and reminds them that they won £8,000 in todays mission bringing the total to £23,000.

She runs over the rules again, and informs them that whoever is banished will be banished immediately. She ends with asking who would like to start the discussion.

Everyone looks nervous and no-one wants to start. Hannah asks if anyone feels really confident. Andrea sighs, shakes her head and replies “no, absolutely not”. Hannah smiles wryly and says “I’m fairly confident”.

She continues by saying “I think the person that it is, does not want it to be them and I think they’ve struggled which makes this a lot harder because they’ve been given the poisoned chalice”.

Will says “For me, there’s a couple of people and one’s my head and one’s my heart”.

Amanda says “I feel the same. I’ve got two people in mind, their characters have changed since I first met them”.

Claire says “I have to say I agree with you there Amanda, there are two that have changed”.

Faye says “It’s been very difficult to detect any of the other traitors, but the only person I’ve seen a huge change in is you, Nicky”.

Nicky asks how has she changed?

Faye says it’s not just her saying it, other people have noticed it too.

Alyssa brings up the fact that Nicky didn’t raise her glass to say cheers to the faithfuls yesterday.

Nicky replies that it was because the drink is on the right and its not natural for her to do that.

The group then start to pick apart everything about Nicky. She tries to defend herself and to camera she asks “where was this change? No-one knew. I just thought it was a bit of a cop out. I think they all just jumped on the bandwagon”.

Aaron speaks up and says “Genuinely I don’t think it’s Nicky. I’m gonna be honest, I think it’s Imran. Mainly because of body language”.

Will says “Theo was very direct with Imran and the way you responded was really uncomfortable. It was like ‘Oh my God, they know!'”

Imran claims not to remember the conversation but that the young folk don’t make firm decisions without having evidence.

John and Andrea look towards Imran and Hanah immediatey asks Imran what he means when he says ‘young people don’t make judgements’?.

She goes on to say that everyone has to write their name down on a card right now and ask if he just doing that randomly because that seems more unfair than making judgements.

Imran responds by saying he always likes to give evidence behind a judgement that he makes and that he feels certain people have changed.

Personally he hasn’t interacted too much with Nicky and was thinking more of Faye. Faye is very critical and always talking about other people.

Faye responds with “It’s interesting that now your name has come to the flow with Nicky, that you’re deflecting to me”.

Nicky says “I’ve also seen Faye sowing seeds and commenting. My view is that you would only mention these names now”.

Time for talk is over. The players now have to write down the name of the person they wish to banish tonight.
